While cleaning my office in preparation for my impending paternity leave, I stumbled over this Aquaman sketch. I assume it dates to around last year when I was posting a series of Justice League redesigns but never got around to finishing ol’ Arthur Curry, King of Atlantis. So I threw some quick inks and photoshop colors on the piece.
The redesign isn’t very drastic, mainly because I kinda like his goofy color scheme. I did give him the beard and sand-dollar necklace from his “gritty” 90s days, and the swashbuckling sword from his (actually pretty cool) Sword of Atlantis reboot. The webbed feet are my own addition, but I’m sure I’m not the first person to think that would make sense for an aquatic character.
